*Now more than ever men are getting Botox. The phenomenon even has its own term -"bro-tox." Since 2000, the number of men getting Botox injections has increased by 310 percent. Men, just like women, want to look younger and slow down the aging process.
It's no secret that youth is valued in the workplace, and Botox is no longer considered a "taboo" cosmetic procedure. With aging, sometimes your looks can be deceiving. The face begins to fall forward and wrinkles form. Your face may have an angry or sad appearance when in reality you're happy and relaxed. Body language, appearance, and first impressions contribute greatly to the way in which we form opinions of others. Looking confident and relaxed can be an important component of professional success.
The idea that Botox is only for women and can leave you unnaturally frozen-faced is a misconception. Botox relaxes facial muscles, and with the proper dosing can help soften fine lines and wrinkles. The goal is to look your best, but not have people wondering what "work" you had done. There's no shame in wanting to look and feel your best!
