Where Can Botox Injections Be Used?
There are many uses for Botox as well as many areas that can be treated. Some of the most commonly treated areas include:
Forehead: Botoxcosmetic injections smooth out the horizontal lines that can be formed along the forehead as a result of over-expression or excessive raising of the eyebrows.
Between the Brows (Glabellar): These lines are also referred to the 11's and they tend to make one look angry or hyper-focused. When Botox is injected between the brows, it can make those lines softer.
Below the Brows: A few units of Botox injected under each brow can help give more of an arch or even make the brow look straighter across.
Corner of the Eyes (Crows Feet): As we age, we develop creases at the corners of our eyes that are known as “crows feet.” Botox can be injected into these areas to help soften those lines
Under the Eyes: A few units of Botox injected below each eye can reduce the line formation over time as well as soften any existing lines.
Bridge of The Nose: The area that creases at the top of the nose can be easily smoothed out with a very small dose of Botox, but the difference can be significant.
Bunny Lines: These are lines that form at the sides of the top of your nose when the nose is scrunched up. This is another area that only requires a small dose of Botox but provides a nice difference.
Upper Lip (Smokers Lines): Because this area is very sensitive only a light dose can be used, but consistent Botox applications in this area will help reduce the formation of new lines over time. Botox, in combination with a dermal filler, can make a beautiful difference to the lines of the upper lip.
Depressor Anguli Oris (DAO): The DAO is the muscle that pulls the corners of the mouth when you frown. Botox injections in this area can relax the muscle enough to let the corners of the mouth resume their normal contour.
TMJ and Jaw Tension: Botox, when injected into facial muscles, can be used to help effectively alleviate the pain and tension associated with TMJ disorders.
Migraines: Botox can be used to treat chronic migraine headaches in adults. This can be especially beneficial and cost-effective for migraine patients who suffer from one or more migraines a week.
Platysmal Bands (Neck Bands): Over the course of time, thick vertical platysmal bands often become visible, running in a V-shape from the top of the neck to the base. These often produce a "turkey gobbler" look. Botox injections can relax this area and soften prominent neck bands.
Masseter Injections (Facial Slimming): Botox can be used to gently and non-surgically sculpt the shape of one’s face. It accomplishes this by reducing the bulk of the masseter muscle, which in turn promotes the slimming and/or narrowing of the outer jaw dimension.
Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating): Botox can be injected into the skin of the underarms to treat the symptoms of severe sweating in cases where topical medicines do not work well enough.
Facial Symmetry: Botox is one of the most effective treatments for individuals suffering from partial facial paralysis, synkinesis, or Bell’s palsy. Botox is effective because it helps prevent unwanted muscle movements and reduce the amount of tension experienced in areas of the face that appear hyperactive.
Blotox (Hair Scalp): Botox can be injected into the scalp to help decrease sweating. This can in turn extend your blowouts or help decrease the hair sweat when working out.

Does it hurt?
Each injection is administered through tiny needles. The discomfort is minimal for almost all patients.
Is it safe?
With appropriate injection technique Botox is very safe and effective.
What are the side effects?
Botox can cause swelling, minor bruising and some post injection redness.
How Does Botox Work?
Botox works by blocking the signals sent from the nerves to the muscles in the face. Once injected, the muscle can no longer contract, and this allows the wrinkles to relax and soften. Botox injections are most effective on lines and creases that are caused by the natural aging process, like forehead lines, crow's feet, and frown lines. Wrinkles that are caused by sun damage do not respond as well to Botox.
How is a Botox Treatment Performed?
Botox comes in a powder form within a vial. Prior to administering, the Botox is reconstituted into a liquid form using saline (sodium chloride). The Botox liquid is then injected in small amounts directly into the neuromuscular tissue of the area being treated.
How Long Does Botox Last?
As the Botox starts wearing off, muscle action will gradually return and along with it, the lines and wrinkles. When this happens, another Botox treatment can be administered. Over time and with consistent Botox applications, the lines and wrinkles will gradually become less severe because the muscles will learn to relax.
Are There Any Side Effects with Botox?
The most common side effect of Botox injections is temporary bruising at the injection site. Some patients may experience headaches, however this is rare. A very small percentage of patients may develop eyelid drooping, and this will also resolve itself.
Botox injections should not be administered to pregnant or lactating women, or by people who have had a previous allergic reaction to the drug or any of its ingredients.
Botox Provides a Safe and Effective Cosmetic Touch-Up
