What is Plasma Therapy Treatment?

Our team of advanced injectors have a proven track record of delivering natural-looking results. Platelet Rich Plasma, also known as “PRP”, is an injection of a portion of your own blood to improve texture, tone, acne scars and fine lines. We use this method as a part of regenerative medicine program, activating the body's own platelets to rebuild and strengthen tissues involved in the aging process. The activated platelets contain a number of natural growth factors that stimulate collagen production. The result is a regeneration of natural collagen and an overall rejuvenation of the surrounding tissue. This therapy can be used through all areas of the face including folds, cheeks, under eyes and hands.

The PRP procedure begins by drawing blood. If the methodology is being combined with a microneedling procedure, the microneedling will be performed followed by the application of the plasma blood to the face. While we prepare blood, topical anesthetic is applied to the face if the procedure is being combined with microneedling. For ideal results, both plasma therapy and microneedling procedures should be done together.

A small fraction of the total blood volume is drawn up from the individual patient into a syringe. This is an especially relatively small amount compared to blood donation, which removes 500cc. The blood is spun down in a special centrifuge to separate its components (Red Blood Cells, tiny blood Plasma). The Plasma therapy component is then injected into the area to be treated.

Alternatively the plasma blood can be directly injected into the concern areas. Known as “Local tiny blood” this procedure can treat under eye bags and dark circles, give volume to the lips or cheeks, and even help promote hair growth! It can smooth wrinkles and soften scars. Local plasma blood does not have to be combined with microneedling.

Platelet rich plasma can…

  • Tighten skin
  • Reduce fine lines
  • Slow down the aging process
  • Restore hair
  • Aid in tendon and soft tissue healing
