Vein Therapy Post-Care Guidelines

Please follow these instructions after your vein treatment. If you have any questions, please call our office at 610-518-7546. 

• You may experience mild redness with swelling afterwards.
• The healing vein may be visible for 4-6 weeks or longer.
• If leg veins were treated, no exercise for at least seven (7) days.
• You may apply OTC hydrocortisone to the treated area if redness occurs.
• You should not pick or scratch the treated areas.
• You should wear compression stocking for seven (7) days, if you had leg veins treated.
• You should not expose the area to a hot tub or prolonged heat during the treatment period.
• You should minimize your stand time if the veins are located on your legs.
• You should use sunscreen SPF 30 or greater for the first 4-6 weeks after stockings.
• If a hardened area occurs two (2) weeks post-treatment, please call the office. 
• If you experience any bleeding, hold firm pressure at the source for 30 minutes without removing pressure. Call the doctor.
